Valley Bank opened its doors for business on November 15, 1999 after raising over $7.2 million in capital. Valley Bank was started because many of its founders believed there was a void in access to a locally owned bank that would provide personal service and local decision-making. The current Valley Bank Directors are Thomas O. Barnes, Mark J. Blum, Bonnie Crane, Edmund D. Donovan, Peter T. Dow, Mark A. Gibson, Robert L. Messier, Jr., Thomas P. O'Brien, David J. O'Connor, David J. Preleski and James J. Pryor.

Valley Bank has been profitable since October 2001. The Bank currently has four full service branches and expects to add additional branches in the near future to meet the needs of our market, which includes Bristol, Burlington, Plainville, Plymouth, Southington and Wolcott.
